It’s been a year since I started working part-time at a wine shop in Zurich. Every year during the first weeks of November the city celebrates wine culture at the Expovina Wine Fair. This was my second time working there and I used the opportunity to portray some of the wine sellers there.
Over the years I’ve developed a passion for portratiure and everytime I encounter people and portray them I learn something new about this chapter of photography. At the same time I’ve grown fond of portraying people at their place of work which I personally feel adds an interesting layer to the portrait. It isn’t possible to capture someone’s personality or the way they are in one photograph, or in many. A portrait captures a specific moment at a certain place in someone’s life, therefore it is also them. But it is only a fragment of them. So is work, a fragment of our lifes.
